Time passes so quickly that it may actually seem just like yesterday when the little bundle of joy came into the world. And the birthday party should be as special as the baby herself. It`s quite a dilemma for many mothers when it comes to planning the party for the baby. They think of throwing theme parties such as Cinderella, SpongeBob, Madeline, Doremon and many others.

While cartoon character theme parties are a rage these days, they are so inappropriate for the babies. One or two year old babies don`t care about other babies dressed as cowboys or Tinker bell or even a mermaid. It`s best that theme parties are postponed until they turn four when they know the difference between Stitch and Buzz Light-year. Meanwhile, the party for the young one should be simple, engaging and of course short.

The first thing that needs to be decided upon is the time of the party because the babies nap in the afternoon and if she is tired and sleep-deprived, she will get irritated during the party and the excitement around. So, the best time is after she has had her afternoon nap. Also, if other babies are invited to the party, one should check with other mothers regarding each baby`s nap timing and plan the party accordingly.

Time duration of the party is also of extreme importance and it should not be any longer than an hour and a half. Keep it brief and exciting. Another aspect to look into is the guest list. Since the baby doesn`t have many friends, there shouldn`t be many guests. And it`s great if the guests are limited as a crowd may overwhelm the baby. One should only invite people who have already met the baby because crowd and strangers bot can be frightening for the baby.

Since it will be a small gathering and there are going be lesser people, one can purchase some really fancy invitations. The best place to host the party is the sweet homes - it`s the place baby is familiar with and would definitely be comfortable. And if there are babies in the house, one should pay heed and make arrangements beforehand:

Keep the party area clear of anything that may cause damage such as forks, crockery and small objects that can be easily swallowed.

Store all the breakable stuff as well as valuables in a locked closet. Now is not the time to show them off.

Babies are too young to play together, so they play next to one another. One should make sure that there are plenty of toys lying in a large floor space.

They are all at the age where they want to explore. Therefore, the doors must be closed, staircases are inapproachable with stair gates, fireplaces should be guarded, closet and lower cabinets should be latched well.

Other moms will need a private room for breastfeeding their little ones, so ensure that one spare room is available for that.

Additionally, there should be a clean space where nappies of the kids can be changed conveniently.

While one takes care of everything to make the special day perfectly memorable, she often forgets to keepsake the memories. Since the mother is going to be very busy throughout the day, she should ask a friend or a family member to have a camera at hand and take plenty of pictures and record the event.
