  • You have problems? Talk about it and get it off your chest. Don't keep brooding. It stresses you. Shed unwanted garbage. Don't carry it around. It weighs you down.

  • Hold onto the lighter moments in life. They're worth clinging on to.

  • Accept. Whatever is meant to happen will happen. What cannot be avoided must be endured. Just face it, and tell yourself, "I can manage". And you will - a lot better than you think. This has been the strength of the Indian woman down the centuries.

  • Work away your depression. You needn't have a job. Spring clean your house instead. Hard work soothes the mind and the soul. Work is the panacea for depression.

  • Indulge in your favourite dream. Have you a silly habit or hobby that gives you the thrills? Don't give it up. Let it be your own secret. It's nice to have a private giggle.

  • Each of us has a contemplative side to us. Look within. What is it that really makes you happy? That will reduce your stress and enable you to enjoy Life more.

  • Have you a talent? A gift given by God. Capitalise on it. You'll be amazed at how good you feel about yourself. Don't ignore your talents, even if they are considered old fashioned.

  • Take one day at a time. Resolve to be happy today, every day. It's possible when you take it step by step. You can accomplish a lot more.

  • Don't look for happiness in the outer world. If you can't find it within you, you won't find it anywhere else.
