Such is the plight of some working women who have, in their quest for succes
s in their career, let something else slip through their hands. Ah! Yes! It was that little matter of having kids, of creating a happy small family alongside their blooming careers! Having spent almost half their grown up lives developing their careers, they have realized that at age 40+ they have missed the bus as far as having their own children was concerned. Then begin the often fruitless rounds of fertility clinics, of doctors who promise miracles and even of tantriks who promise a bundle of joy within the year. Alas! Too late in most cases! So what then is the general mindset of a woman and a working woman in particular?
What most women desire is not too difficult to fathom. Women almost always desire something that has evaded them in their lives. What would make most of us happy and contented is also very simple. Most of us want to be able to have time for family, friends and primarily for ourselves. We want to be left alone sometimes to absorb and enjoy the pleasures of life ' even if it is something as simple as enjoying the beauty of nature.
All of us would definitely love to achieve that perfect work-life balance. Having the warmth and comfort of a loving and caring family even while enjoying the security of a good career is practically every woman's dream.
As women we would also love to take total control of our lives and be in a position to call the shots whether it is control over our time or our finances. Maybe this is why women are a big success as entrepreneurs!
Women are passionate about their beliefs. They would love to have a sense of purpose every morning when they get out of bed. It gives them a great sense of purpose to be able to contribute towards a cause and they go all out to prove their commitment.
Most career women who 'forget' to have babies live to regret their decision. After so many years of rushing to appointments, burning the midnight oil to meet deadlines, days spent away from husband and close friends, insomnia and practically no home food, they realize too late what they have missed out in life and try to make amends. With a supportive husband and family, it may still not be too late - provided they know when it is time to stop the mad rush and turn the mind to other important things in life.
