Adopt some of granny's ideas!
- Have a cloth bag in your purse. In case you decide to make small purchases, you needn't pick
up a plastic bag. Today's bags are so attractive!
- Don't pile up the car and the house with soft tissues to blow your nose. Go back to your handkerchiefs and do the same for the kids.
- If you want to clean your vehicle, don't give it a regular bath; give it a sponge bath!
- Grandma never spent so much money on wrapping paper, remember? She would get creative by using coloured newspaper to wrap gifts or would tear the wrapping paper so carefully that she could reuse it.
- Use neem leaves (instead of chemical tablets) to keep away insects.
- Instead of bulbs, have tube lights. They consume much less electricity.
- Avoid opening the fridge too often. The more often you open the fridge, the more electricity it consumes.
- You don't need a stain remover with toxic ingredients to remove stains such as oil or fat stains. Rub cornflower ont
o the stain and leave for 20 minutes and then brush off with a soft cloth. You may sometimes need to do it several times.
- Ball point stains (don't men's pockets have them all the time?) can be removed by soaking the garment in milk! Now how friendly can that get?
Natural ingredients when used the right way will provide you with the best solution. Grandma may be a little old fashioned but her green ideas do wonders for Mother Earth!
