 Christmas is all about sparing a thought for the others. That is how the concept of gifts came up. But nowadays there is more emphasis on receiving gifts and the value of it. Just reach out to others and say, you are in my thought and in my prayers You matter as a person. As a Christmas resolution, resolve to treat every one with consideration, no matter how much reason you have to behave otherwise. Give up something that you want, something that you need and give it away to someone. Isn't this what a sacrifice is all about? It's not disposing off your unwanted. True sacrifice will give you a glow of happiness all your life. Build on this feeling and experience the spiritual way of life. Just this once, don't think about what you would like to get. Think about what you are going to give to someone who truly needs help. They may not be friends or family. It could just be a needy family down the road. Think of them. Think of people who cannot afford to give back in return, except in spirit. Choose them this Christmas. Never mind the fun parties. Never mind the elite crowd. Try to spend this Christmas with your family and loved ones. With people who you grew up with, people who helped you through your bad times. Remember the Divine birth. Remember his teachings. Which of them really apply to you? Do some soul searching. Live your life by them. Enhance the spiritual quality of your life. Think of the unfortunate children. Don't kill them with sympathy. Give them a reason to smile instead. Enjoy your life. It's God's gift to you. Enjoy living by his rulebook without making life a drag.
