Don't abuse yourself

Don't abuse yourself

Very often, we run ourselves down. And needlessly too. We seem to have little faith in ourselves.

We doubt our ability to do things well or look beautiful. There are times when we even question our own integrity.

How often has a woman told herself "I look terrible today"? Does she say that because she really does look terrible or because she merely doesn't look as good as she would like to be?

Are we unconsciously rejecting ourselves because we are not perfect?

To want to be perfect in every aspect is the primary mistake. Human beings are in a state of evolution. We are continuously changing and evolving. We are not meant to be perfect.

So, don't decry yourself for not being faultless. The notion will, in time, penetrate to your subconscious mind. The thought gets constantly reinforced and will take root. This will tarnish your inner thoughts.

Don't abuse yourself this way. If you don't have a good opinion of yourself, no one else is going to have positive thoughts about you. Your thoughts and feelings get communicated to others in subtle ways. And before you know it, they are going to think of you as inadequate.

What began as an idle thought becomes an emotional reality.

Is that what we want in life? To be thought of as inadequate? Surely not!

So, lets try to influence people with positive thoughts instead. A positive thought could have a profound impact on people too.

It is for this very reason that the philosophers of yore stressed on the importance of THE GOOD WORD.

So, resolve to be positive about yourself. In thought, word and deed.

"I feel good about myself" repeat this to yourself a few times each day. Let the words soak into your subconscious, and dwell in your very essence. And you'll be amazed at the difference you feel    about yourself, about your family and about the world around you.

Similarly, don't let negative thoughts about others sully your mind. Find something positive in all the people around you. At home, at work, in your neighbourhood and elsewhere.

Keep reinforcing that positive thought. And you'll find your life changing for the better. Along with your ability to deal with people too.

Don't give negativism the power to influence your life. Make a conscious effort to banish a negative thought even as it makes an entrance into your mind. Replace it with a conscious thought.

You owe it to yourself to do so.
