Slash an unripe papaya. The milky juice that oozes out is excellent to apply on pimples. A truly tried and tested remedy!
Slice a potato into thin slices and rub a slice when still fresh on the face. Do not rinse. See the pimples disappear after a few such applications. The slices can be kept in the refrigerator for further use.
Take a 3/4 cup of oatmeal (used for making porridge) mixed with enough water to moisten it. Blend in the mixie and apply on face. Wait for 15 minutes before rinsing with cool water. Oatmeal is excellent for reducing swelling and redness and has a mildly drying effect on the skin.
Cucumber when peeled and blended to a paste in a mixie is an ideal face mask. Leave it on for 25 minutes. Attend to your chores while the mask does its job. When you wash your face, you will find that the pimples have been dealt with even while your skin feels cool and refreshed.
Applying a mixture of cornflour and egg at night on a clean face works wonders. Apply gently with your hand and wait for 5 minutes before rinsing with hot water. Follow this routine for 3 days.
Wash face with warm water. Squeeze a lemon, add salt and apply this to your face. Allow it to dry for 15 - 20 minutes before washing again with warm water.
Aloe Vera is an excellent home remedy for many skin problems. Slice a small piece of Aloe Vera and directly apply on the face. Allow to air dry. Do not rinse, but use your lotion over this. Use this twice a day and see the symptoms vanish.
Did you know that ordinary toothpaste, (not the newer gels) when dabbed onto the pimple with a cotton bud, will make it vanish - well, almost - by morning?
