In present times, our society claims to keep men and women on an equal level, but it holds true only for certain things. There are so many things that a man can do and a woman can’t and vice-versa. Men are usually good at doing physical work and women are good at doing mental work. And this affects their behavior directly.
Men and women behave differently at different situations. And this behavior is just not limited to their actions but also to the way they react to certain things such as pressure, crisis, generosity etc. However there have always been questions raised in the name of generosity- are women more generous than men? There have been various researches taking place on behaviors of men and women and also to find reasons why they behave in that particular style. And when it comes to generosity, various observations have been made. And the results of these observations and researches are not likely to be appreciated by men.
Women are more generous than men when it comes to certain things like donation, sharing food, charitable causes etc. A study shows that when in a group, women give more and when in groups of four to five, women tend to give even more, sometimes even twice or thrice of what men give. So what can be the possible reason for the above? Women are brought up as someone who takes care of everyone right from their childhood. In fact, this doesn’t even need to be taught to them. The acts of being empathic, understanding and caring is an integral part of women that they have been blessed with.
A survey conducted to find out more generous between men and women, it came up with exciting results. Most of the people said that women were born to share. They share everything from grief, happiness, problems, money, food etc. It just not limits to the materialistic things. Rather it goes much deeper. If any person is going through any kind of emotional or financial turbulence, women are more likely to understand them better and thus empathize more. It is often seen that women help their colleagues, friends, servants or even a stranger if they are in dire need of it more than men would do. Women tend to think more deeply and intellectually and therefore they find themselves personally connected to the cause of charities or the problems of people around them.
Debra Mesch quotes, “It is not only wealthy women who give”. Women tend to give to every needy overlooking their own financial conditions owing to their selfless nature. Whereas a study shows that only the households with annual income of approximately $35,000 are the ones where the men initiate to be generous enough to donate some amount to the needy.
