Sudha: Parenting is a simple matter as we have all been children ourselves. So we`ve the benefit of knowing what our parents went through how things can be worked out.
Parenting brings realization that we`ve become parents. The arrival of a new born baby brings a lot of changes in life. Most of us are not prepared of it but parenting is not a difficult thing to handle.
Take care of your baby`s nutrition. Food allergy is common in babies. It may make the baby break out in rashes or cry after having food. Babies are prone to vomiting and diarrhea due to food allergies. To prevent food allergies, introduce solids gradually in a child`s diet. Start with rice cereal, barley and oat cereal and gradually add yellow vegetables, fruits, green vegetables, meats and wheat.
Regular baby massage help babies to gain weight and strengthens immune systems of babies. It nourishes the soft and tender skin of their newborns. Give massage after meals.
Wash your hands and apply baby cream or oil to soften your hands. Start a full-body massage from head or feet. Don`t use baby oil on infant`s face.
Give older babies 20 minutes of massage depending on their development. Don`t tickle the baby while you massage. Use fingertips of both hands in circular strokes for massage starting at the center to outside.
Weaning child distress parents as much as the child. If your baby cries non-stop then sooth and comfort your child with breast or bottle feeding.
