Talk to your hairdresser and find out whether it would be comfortable and whether it will look good on you! Your hairdresser should also be able to tell you how long it will take her to give you that look. You have to take into consideration the rituals that you will be going through. Here are some things that you could do to look the picture of
perfection.
- Don't go in for a hair cut a day before the wedding or even have it coloured then. Get your hair cut and coloured at least a week before the wedding so that your hair has the time to settle down.
- Do you want someone to come home and attend to your hair? Or would you rather go to the parlour? This is a personal decision that you have to take.
- The only disadvantage of a hair dresser coming home is that normally only one person comes and sometimes she is asked to style the hair of the other ladies too!
- Once you have hit upon the hairdresser, talk about the image that you are looking for so that she can understand your taste.
- Take along pictures of the hairstyle that you are referring to; this will make it much easier for both of you. Also find out how much they will be charging so that you don't come in for a shock.
- While talking to her, constantly check to see that she is interested not only in the wedding but in the kind of hair care that she is offering. Find out from someone if she is punctual. You cannot afford to wait for your hairdresser to arrive.
- In case you are getting a haircut before the wedding, get it done by the person who will be styling your hair on your wedding day. This way, your hair will not become too short for the style that you are thinking of adopting!
- Avoid washing your hair on the day of the wedding; if you can, wash it at least on the night before.
- Make sure that you give your hairdresser at least 45 minutes to style your hair.
- Choose a hairdresser who you are comfortable with; you need to feel relaxed on the day of the wedding and not go through any kind of interpersonal tension!
