 It's summer time and doggy dear needs that extra care to he can keep his cool. Hot weather often makes a dog bad tempered. Here are a few tips that will help make his life easier and yours too. Keep him indoors in the peak hours. Romping out in the sun can cause a heat stroke. This could cause brain damage or even death. Let him out for a couple of hours early in the morning or late in the evening. He needs lots of cool clean water. Ensure is water bowl is never empty. Don't give your pets iced water. It could shock his system. Just plenty of cool water. If your dog gets to play at the beach or the pool water, keep an eye on him. Chlorinated water can affect his eyes. The salt water will start irritating him after a while. Make sure you hose him down after he has had his fun. Dog's paws aren't made to absorb heat from concrete flooring. They blister easily as they are sensitive to heat. Hose down his paws often. And don't let him walk on hot pavements or yards. Keep him free of ticks and fleas. Brush his coat often. People who live in hot humid areas often cut the excess hair off their dogs during summer time. This enables the dog to keep cool. Feed your pet more liquid based foods like bread and milk , rather than plain meat.
