We all like our house to emit love, happiness, prosperity and warmth all over and extend all positive vibes to all the guests and visitors. While the basic architecture of a house also plays a very important role in all this, it is sometimes beyond our control to change this basic architecture to get a warm look and feel in our house. However, there is one thing we all can do make the interiors of our house very warm and welcoming.

This is where your skills are house designing come into play. For a lady, especially, who is the whole-sole caretaker of the house, it is utmost important that she knows about some basic house designing tips and brings them to practice to make her house appealing and attractive for the visitors and at the same time, warm and soothing for the house mates.

The first step towards designing your house should be to repair all broken or chipped walls, corners, flooring, etc. once this is done, fix things like wiring, plaster of Paris, etc. and give a new paint to the walls of your house. Once the walls are done in a new look and the repairs fixed, your house is ready to do all makeovers in terms of enhancements now and further decoration.

You can play with the paint on the walls by going for textured painting or highlighting one wall or some part of it in the rooms. This helps to add value and importance to an otherwise dark, gloomy or drab corner in a room. Next come the furniture’s upholstery. Change all the old cushion covers with new ones. If the sofa velvet or covers are very old, try going in for the new designs and textures available in the market. Give your old sofa a completely new look by simply changing the clothing that covers the basic framework of the sofa.

Buy new pillows for the beds, diwans, etc. the recent trend is to flood the complete sitting space with as much pillows and cushions as possible. This adds to the volume of the room and the furniture and makes one feel much involved in the whole ambience of the house. Decorate the side tables and corner tables with some scented and aroma candles, aroma flowers, artificial flowers, etc. such elements add a soft touch to the house and let the room or the whole house bathe in an extremely soft and soothing glow. The light fragrance from the aroma candles and flowers creates a lively and harmonious atmosphere in the room that livens it up even when nobody is sitting in it.

Now, you are done with your rooms and the sitting area in general. Now comes the kitchen, the most important part of the house for a lady because she spends the most time here. Add some new elements to the cabinets in the kitchen. You may also want to de-cement some centre tiles and replace them with some innovative trendy designs that are hitting the market currently. Put some potted plants in the kitchen near the windows or near your refrigetors or places those are little away from the heat of the gas or the chimney.

By making such small makeovers in the house, you can considerably change the complete look and feel of your house and make it look more appealing to all your visitors.
