  • Lost a screw in your glasses? A small safety pin will temporarily attach the side-piece to the frame.

  • If the screw of an earring gets lost, break off a piece of a pencil eraser and plunge the post of your earring into it as a temporary backing.

  • Reduce the clutter of pierced-ear earrings on your dresser. Remove the glass from a picture frame. Replace it with a piece of metal gauze, cut to fit the frame. Now hang your earnings so they stay organised and easy to find.

  • If your shoes need a quick shine, dab some furniture polish on a soft cloth and wipe it on the shoes. The polish cleans and shines at the same time.

  • Keep a lint brush in the glove compartment of your car or in your briefcase. You`ll always be ready for a quick lint pickup, wherever you are.

  • Use an empty dental-floss container for a sewing kit. Wind some thread around the spool where the dental floss used to be. Then add sewing needles, small buttons and safety pins.
