Without proper care, that lovely outfit you bought for that not-so-lovely fortune will lose shape and hang on you like a rag. Here are a few tips to make sure that doesn`t happen.
Follow all the instructions on the manufacturer`s care tag carefully.
Wash in warm or cold water (depending on care tag guidelines) and rinse in cold water.
For hand washing, add 1/2 scoop of powder detergent or 1/2 capful of liquid detergent for every 10 litres of water.
While machine washing, use the gentle cycle.
Allow the powder detergent to dissolve before adding clothes.
After washing, roll garment in a dry towel to remove excess water and dry flat, out of direct sunlight.
Never wash your suede or leather jacket and gloves, especially the ones with fur lining. If you have to, use warm water and rich suds. Work the sudsy water through the leather. Do not tug on seams. Gently work the leather between your fingers. Rinse in cool water until suds are gone. Blot on a towel. Lay it flat on a towel to dry. Keep away from heat. As the leather dries, work it between your fingers to restore softness. The oil from your hands will assist in this step. Work through the leather at least three times before it dries completely. Do not attempt to work dry leather. If you forget to work the leather, wet it again, and then rework the gloves before drying.
