A physically fit body is considered as a temple. We often see health conscious individuals who are crazy about their exercise and diet plan. We often wonder what makes them so motivated. What drives them? If experts are to be trusted, they believe that exercising secretes a particular chemical in the brain which makes you feel good. Regular exercising can boast of your self esteem and help you with sleep, concentration and feeling better.
Hitting the gym certainly makes one competitive. You have a daily aim. Be it 500 sets of skipping or 70 kg weight lifting, accomplishing an aim in the morning gives you a different kind of energy and elation throughout the day. It gives you a sense of achievement that remains at the back of your mind through the day.
However, for being active it is not necessary to hit the gym every day. You can also jog, take long walk, cycle, run or simply do some push ups in your home. These things don’t even cost you a penny up brightens your day throughout. Leading an active life helps in improving your self confidence. The release of endorphins after exercising is almost addictive. Once you get into the flow of the regime, you would be addicted to it. A day without exercising would seem to be non satisfactory. A few benefits of regular work out are: less mental fatigue, improved sleep pattern, more focused life, healthy appetite and helps in having a better social life.
For being physically fit, it is not important that you achieve six pack abs or a size zero figure. The idea is to feel good in your own body, not to idolise anybody else. For an active routine, you just need to work out for around half an hour five days a week. Follow a moderate exercising schedule and stick to it, no matter how difficult it might seem. It might seem to be a lot initially, but once you get in the flow, you will certainly stick to it.
Getting started is the most difficult part. There are two types of people. First type, you are very motivated and overzealous. They start heavy exercises from the first day itself and end up being tired and probably having a few injuries. The second type is those who don’t want to exercise at all. However, both of the attitudes are very wrong for the regime. The people, who start with vigorous exercises, end up in bed for a few days after that. The second type gets dejected with the slow results and thus, do not carry on with the schedule.
The bottom line is; an active and healthy schedule is good for both, mental as well as physical health. A healthy mind always manages to make the body healthy and vice versa. For integrity and concentration in life, following an active regime is as important as eating healthy food. Half an hour of a day doesn’t take much, as far as your health is concerned.
