Personal hygiene should be maintained in our daily routine. But the most important thing is to keep our surroundings neat and clean and germ free. People often spend hours cleaning their homes but what they miss out is the washroom which requires equal attention.

Some quick and easy measures should be maintained in the daily routine of cleaning, this can prevent a person from a large amount of cleaning. A cleaning cloth apart from the hand –towel should be hung near the basin so that it can be frequently wiped-out keeping it free from soap scum or moulds.
There are few who use the washrooms only because of mirrors; therefore, one should take certain steps to prevent the mirrors from steam as it mists it up. A little amount of liquid wash can be used to wipe out the mirrors. Steaming of washrooms can also be prevented by maintaining a proper ventilation in the washroom it should also be use to prevent the contamination of bad smell in the washrooms as it helps fresh air to stream in.
Apart from air proper amount of light should be maintained, it should not be too bright neither too dim, one can also opt for colored lights to provide a unique look to the washroom.

The cloth and paper towels should be changed frequently as germs mostly multiply in these objects.

Another important aspect in a washroom is the availability of bins, various types of unwanted products and wastes will be need to be disposed off and the bins should be emptied on a regular basis to prevent overflow and to maintain a good appearance of the washroom.

 A washroom is incomplete without sinks and basins, one can opt for more than one sinks, and each of them should be cleaned at regular intervals.
Depending on preferences one can also opt for different washroom for males and females therefore, different objects should be maintained for the two.
Hand hygiene is extremely important it is the most effective way of keeping infections at bay. One should properly wash the hands especially after using a washroom because most germs are passed on by hands spreading about 80% of common disease. To make sure that the hands are germ-free only washing it is not enough, one should make sure the hands are properly dried after washing. Paper towels should be used over warm air driers as it dries only 50% of the dampness and too after a minimum of 20 seconds. Paper towels are more effective when compared to warm air driers as it helps dry 90% of dampness within 10 seconds.

Another important thing in a washroom is hand sanitizers which are very easy to use and have strong capabilities of killing germs.
People have a habit of keeping a record of their duties in written form; this should be obeyed in the case of washroom cleaning also, one should maintain a checklist of washroom supplies and equipments.

Every washroom whether small or big, five star or isolated ones, must be hygienic and user-friendly.
