Making the Most of Steamed Food

In modern world where spicy food has become an eminent part of human life particularly the fast food items of Chinese origin like chowmine, rolls and Manchurian together with the American cuisine such as sandwiches, burgers and pizzas, steamed food has still managed to hold on to its position in the primary list of food items that the people generally prefer to eat. The most striking feature that marks the superior distinguishing aspect of steamed food over the modern spicy fast food is that the former preparation is health- friendly as opposed to the latter which invites a variety of health hazards like diabetes, ulcer and even stomach cancer when consumed on a regular basis.

Steamed food does not cause any health problem even if an individual sticks to this particular food item for a long period of time. In fact, if momo is consumed regularly as a light breakfast, it nourishes the body as a whole since it does not have even the slightest proportion of oil and hence, the chances of cholesterol rise or any other cardiac problem are minimized to a great extent. So, making the most of this steamed food is actually a boon to human health. In the southern part of the country, there is a very popular dish named pongal which is prepared by boiling rice along with minute pieces of black pepper. It not only keeps the stomach in a sound working condition but also maintains the body temperature within a normal range in extremely hot summers. This is the reason why the people of south India, particularly from the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, consume this very food item on a regular basis during hot and humid conditions.

Steamed rice is also a very famous basic dish in the country which is both healthy and delicious when taken with vegetable curry. This particular food is also preferred during the scorching summer season when it is necessary to keep the body temperature low. If the rice is steamed, the carbohydrates remain intact in the food and on consumption of the rice; the body receives a reasonable amount of carbohydrates that supply energy to the body in hot and tiring summers. So, more and more people tend to consume steamed rice during this time to remain fit, healthy and energetic. Yet another steamed food which is known for imparting nourishment to the body is water boiled egg that is a very common breakfast item. When the egg is boiled, all the germs and other impurities which were there in it die out and hence, the egg becomes safe to eat. Hence, it has been medically approved that eating full water boiled egg is much safer than consuming the egg as omelet or in any other possible form. Hence, the people generally prefer consuming full water boiled egg to stay away from diseases.

From this, one can clearly conclude that steamed food is probably the safest kind of food available to human beings as a result of which, people are making the most of this kind of food by consuming it frequently, irrespective of the place they are in.
