The new procedure of Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) can also be used as a corrective measure of hypermetropia. CK gives patients a blended vision, and is quite a quick and easy procedure.
  • Cataracts: A cataract is a casting of all or part of the generally clear eye lense, and so the result is distorted or blurred vision. Cataract mostly occurs in people aged 55 or above, but can also be found occasionally in younger people. Eyeglasses, surgery or contact lenses can correct cataracts. Cataract surgery is there for getting rid of the clouding cataract, and this surgery is one of the most frequently performed and successful surgeries. In this surgery, the cataract is dissolved by using an ultrasound probe which breaks the lens apart and sucks it out. After that, an artificial lens is implanted in the eye. It takes a few months to get the eye healed completely, but patients start doing their regular works and activities within a few days.
  • Astigmatism: Astigmatism takes place when the eyes cornea gets slightly irregular in shape. Due to that, vision at all distances may be blurred. Most levels of astigmatism can be cured and corrected with eyeglasses or contact lenses. For some patients, refractive laser surgery is also an option for treatment.
  • Glaucoma: Glaucoma is a disease of the eye that is characterized by elevated intraocular pressure that damages optic nerve fibers and leads to progressive loss of vision. Treatment of glaucoma tends mainly to reduce the level of intraocular pressure, and in most cases it limited to the use of eye drops or topical and systematic medications.
