An eye problem is a common issue that is faced by each of us in our lifetime. With the progress of age the most of our body functions become hampered and Eyesight Problems at old age is common affliction. Blurry vision, cataract and glaucoma are some of the most common senior eye problems. Timely treatment goes a long way in curing most Eyesight Problems and ensures a clear vision with which you can watch the world around you change.

Causes for Eye Problems

Diabetes is a common cause for most of old age eye troubles if not treated properly then it may lead to further serious complications that may impair your vision seriously. A family history of eye problems and diabetes also influences the different eye diseases. Negligence in such cases is a grave mistake and you must go for regular check-ups to eliminate serious eye trouble possibilities. The harsh rays of the sun are another possible cause of eyesight problems. Eye infections and cataract are the Eyesight Problems that you may incur from the rays of the sun.

Types of old age Eyesight Problems

Glaucoma is a common eye problem that victimizes the elderly; the optic nerves are damaged in such cases and may result in visual impairment. Eye drops and medication can cure this particular eye ailment if detected in time. Surgery is the other treatment option that removes the disease. Age related Muscular disorder is the result of the muscles loosing elasticity which may lead to vision troubles. Presbyopia is another disease of the eye that occurs in old people. This requires the use of reading glasses. It is not a result of long sightedness (hypermetropia) or short sightedness (myopia) but is a result of lack of focus that is the consequence of eye muscle relaxation. As you grow older the elasticity of the muscles decreases that is evident most prominently in the wrinkles that appear in your skin. Similarly the eye muscles are also affected and this results in incapability of the eye to focus properly which leads to requirement of glasses.

Cure for old age Eyesight Problems

Cataracts are easily treated through surgery. Microsurgery is an option that has become popular in recent times that requires minimal post operative care and clearer vision. This involves the removal of the defective eye lenses and replacing it with new ones. Laser is another Cure for Eye Problems that helps you to do away with your glasses and also laser surgery is instrumental in the treatment of Eyesight Problems. Contacts are another option which you can avail if you find spectacles cumbersome.
