Summer is here! So are the skirts, shorts and hot pants. And of course, battling out the extra flab! Well, the last one is the least appreciated by every woman but to sport some great outfits in a great body this summer, one has to sweat it out in the gym. There`s no shortcut to getting rid of additional cellulite, specially around the thighs (that`s a tough spot), although everyone wishes there were. But with a few good exercises, one can tone her legs without even going to the gym.
Jogging is one exercise that tones the entire body, so if one is looking forward to shed the flab around tummy, buttocks, thighs and calves, jogging is the way to go. It takes about 30 minutes or so of one`s time and isn`t very exhausting. Requirements for jogging are a good pair of sport shoes – one that fits comfortably, an MP3 player (not necessary) for company and a jogger`s park (a kids` park will do as well). Make it a point to jog in the morning and ensure that there are enough trees surrounding the park, both beneficial for health.
Climbing stairs is another good exercise for legs. So, one must find a long staircase and walk it up several times, depending on one`s caliber. Start from climbing it three to four times on day one and then increase them by two every day for a week. Climbing stairs not only tone legs, but also strengthen butts, calves and hamstring. If there are no stairs nearby, one can go for a replacement exercise, step up. In this exercise, a metal box or a set of stairs measuring up to 18 inches is used. On this platform, one has to step up using both legs one by one. The process has to be repeated several times.
Another great way to tone legs is dancing – one activity most women enjoy. One can either dance at home or take up dance classes under the supervision of a professional trainer. The good thing about dancing is that there are umpteen options to choose from – hiphop, salsa, tango, ballet, classical Indian dance forms and many others. If not, one can simply turn the music on, pump up the volume and start dancing with the groove.
And the last thing to make legs sexier, one has to replace greasy and fatty foods with the healthier ones. So, keep away from chips, baked food, pasta, candy bars, sweets, soda, etc. and start munching healthy stuff such as fruits, nuts, vegetables, eggs and others. What`s important is that one can consume plenty of fiber and drink loads of water so as to keep healthy and fit. Such a diet provides adequate vitamins, proteins, minerals that assist in burning fat with less effort.
