Yoga has been the best remedy for any ailment in the body and helps in fast healing of the body. The science of yoga comprises many asanas, also called exercises in general language, which are suited to treat different kinds of problems in the body of an individual. The word asana is in fact a Sanskrit word that means posture of the body or any of its organs. The science of yoga comprises in total 84 asanas where each asana has a special name, a special form and a typical way of performing that asana. These asanas in yoga have been designed and crafted to promote and enhance physical, mental and the spiritual well being of an individual. Perfectionists of yoga say that through these asanas, people can reach a stable condition where they feel that all organs of their body are in synchronization and are well under the control of the brain. Asanas have been known to leave a positive impact on the body by rejuvenating, overhauling and bringing the entire body into a state of equilibrium.

List of some of the most common yoga asanas:
Surya namaskar: The surya namaskar asana as the name suggest means bowing or greeting the rising run. In general, all sessions in yoga being with surya namaskar because people believe that this asana cleanses the body and lets positive energy from the sun flow in the body. In English, the asana is called sun salutation. This asana energizes and nourishes the upper part of the body.

Utthan pada asana: The Utthan pada asana is called the leg-lifting posture in which “utthan” means “to lift” and “pada” means “leg”. In this yoga asana, the legs of an individual are lifted up. This asana is useful in removing any kind of disorders of the back and in strengthening the spinal cord.

Paschimothan asana: The Paschimothan asana is in fact the forward bend asana, which is also called the touching toes posture. In this posture, a person stretches the back to make it more flexible. This posture helps in imparting flexibility to the upper part of the body and also helps in correcting any kind of disorders in the spine region.

Bhujanga asana: The bhujanga asana is also called the cobra asana. The word “bhujanga” means a snake or a serpent. The bhujanga asana is named after the name of the king of snakes, the great cobra. This asana helps in rendering youthfulness to the body and also helps in easy birth of a new baby for a woman.
