Many of us suffer from hypoglycemia or low blood sugar without even knowing about it. Low blood sugar is quite common and it may result due to various reasons, especially in young girls. When we don`t eat food for too long while doing our work, our blood sugar reduces to a considerable level and one may experience episodes of blackouts, getting faint, or giddiness. Causes of Hypoglycemia:There are many causes or triggers that result in hypoglycemia, but some common ones are:

Insufficient protein intake and drinking alcohol in excess by diabetics triggers low blood sugar. Thus, one should eat a healthy and suitable diet for avoiding any deviation in blood sugar.
Symptoms:The symptoms can be mild or strong depending on the value of drop in blood sugar and other medical conditions. Signs and symptoms that indicate the condition of hypoglycemia are low energy levels, headaches, irritability, nervousness, anxiety, visual disturbances, faintness, exhaustion, etc. In severe cases one may suffer from blackouts and fainting spells.
Hypoglycemia affects the personal and professional life of a person so one should try to stabilize the blood pressure. If you develop any or combination of symptoms listed above, you should test your blood pressure and if it`s the reason, you can take following steps to prevent that:
- Include food high on proteins in your meals such as pulses, cheese, soya milk, and eggs.
- Fish, chicken, curd all are essential food items to improve your blood pressure so make them a regular part of your diet.
- Eat sugary foods as it provide you instant energy by increasing your blood glucose. Alcohol should be avoided and especially when you`re empty stomach.
- All essential vitamins such as Vitamin E, B and other minerals should be eaten in a proper quantity.
Hypoglycemia may affect your daily life so one should take measures to prevent it and the best way to do that is eating a balanced diet and not skipping meals.
