Air pollution today forms one of the most spread causes of increasing number of medical problems and abnormalities in people all across the world. More affected are the urban areas where the levels of air pollution are increasing every passing day. The large number of vehicles on the road, increasing number of factories and industries around us, massive destruction of tress and deforestation, etc., all contribute to the astonishing increase in the amount of air pollution.

Here’s is a list of all such causes of air pollution in our country. By knowing the actual, large-scale causes of air pollution, we may be able to take initiatives from our end to bring an end to these causes and keep our air fresh and clean for our future generations and our own selves.
 
Out of all the pollutants in the air, the one that causes the maximum amount of air pollution is carbon dioxide. Although the carbon dioxide that we human beings give out is inhaled by plants, when the same gas is emitted from other sources, it renders impurity in the air to a large extent. As a result, the amount of carbon dioxide that the atmosphere contains is more than what plants can inhale and one point of time. Owing to this, the excess amount gets inside our body along with oxygen when we inhale and causes a lot of medical problems. Thus, reducing the human activities, other than breathing, that helps add carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is very important.

Another major cause of air pollution is the combustion from vehicles. Every vehicle on the road or up in the sky when moves, emits smoke in the atmosphere in the form of poisonous gases such as sulphur dioxide and others. These gases are extremely harmful for living organisms and can lead to fatal diseases such as lung cancer, tuberculosis, etc. In addition to this, the smoke released from the high-rising chimneys of factories and industries also adds to air pollution by increasing the amount of poisonous gases in the atmosphere and polluting it.

Carbon monoxide is an extremely dangerous gas and takes the life of an individual within minutes when inhaled. Latest reports and surveys reveal the alarming amount of the presence of this poisonous gas in the atmosphere. This gas is released from bonfires, fireplaces, generators, automobiles, etc. 

Another gas that is added to the atmosphere and forms a major cause of air pollution is nitrogen dioxide. This gas is released in the atmosphere again through human intervention and activities such as power plants, manufacturing units, burning of fossil fuels, etc. Although there are many other gases and causes of air pollution, the gases mentioned here are the most important ones and are present in our atmosphere in an amount more than any other poisonous gas. Owing to this reason, these poisonous gases affect the life of living organisms to a great extent and leave adverse affect on the body of both plants and animals.

In order to bring down the level of these dangerous and lethal gases in our atmosphere, it is important that we all do our bit and save our air from getting more polluted in days to come.
