One of the most common chronic disease in the world, Asthma actually affects the air passage of the human beings. The air passage are tubes that allows the passage of air in and out of the lungs. In case of a person having Asthma, the interior portion of the air passage tube walls are swollen or inflamed. This inflammation leads to the air passage becoming more sensitive than the normal situation and tends to react quite strongly with things we are allergic to or something that irritates us. In fact when the air duct reacts, it gets narrower and this results in less amount of air being allowed to enter in the lungs through the air ducts.

Causes of Asthma:

The exact reason of Asthma is not clear though it is believed that the inflamed air passage takes place due a many combined factors . Another fact about Asthma is that it might be genetic as well. Exposure to tobacco, smoke, infections, allergens might trigger off Asthma. Some of the factors leading to Asthma symptoms and attacks are the allergens like , Animal dander , Dust mites , Cockroaches , Pollen from trees and grass , Mold. Some of the irritants that have the ability to cause Asthma are, Cigarette smoke ,Air pollution ,changes in weather ,Strong odors ,Scented products ,Strong emotional expression, stress. Other causes are, Medicines like aspirin and beta-blockers , condition called gastroesophageal , special chemicals or dusts ,Infections.

Symptoms of Asthma:

  • Coughing.
  • Wheezing.
  • Chest tightness.
  • Shortness of breath
  • Faster breathing or noisy breathing.

    Relief from Asthma:

  • Consulting doctors is a must in Asthma cases and with proper treatments, Asthma can be controlled to a great extent even if it is not possible to get rid of it permanently. Take a look at some of the measures that can take care of your Asthma problem:
  • Regular consultation with doctor.
  • Avoiding things that tend to make you Asthma prone.
  • Using medicine; long term or short term.
  • Monitoring Asthma attacks closely so that you are not taken by surprise and are prepared beforehand to take care of yourself or the other person concerned.
