1. What drove you take up squash as your sport?
I started playing when I was 8. My dad is a squash player. So I used to tag along with him to the MCC club and played with friends of my age group. At 10, I decided this was going to be my career.

2. How did you grow up as a player?
I grew up very normally. Studies were given a lot of importance as well as playing. I travelled to many countries even as I was very young.

3. What are your credentials?
I won most of the Juniors international tournaments lie Malaysian Juniors, British, Scottish etc. My world ranking is 39.

4. What is your opinion about encouragement given to women sportspersons in India?
Encouragement is given thought it can be hard with the politics within different sports federations. But I believe with talent and hard work, nothing can stop you, man or woman.

5. What is your take on the debate that cricket in India eclipses other sports?
Yes cricket is the main sport of the country. I think that while a lot of importance is given to cricket, they shouldn’t neglect sports people who do well in other sports like billiards, shooting, sailing etc.

6. Your word for budding sports women?
My advice to women would be that we are capable of achieving anything. I also advise them to work hard at their sport and have fun at the same time.
