The time that we had shared with our pals, and the spirit of friendship that existed then, make us overcome quite a few difficulties of our grown up lives. But a situation may also come when we realize to our surprise, that the friends we had during our childhood are no longer the people that they used to be. Several stories have been written across nations on this theme and several movies have been made. A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, is one such movie which depicts the journey of few friends, from childhood to adulthood.
A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, is mainly a story about Dito, an emerging author living in L.A. He is called back to his hometown of Astoria, Queens, New York, when his father falls seriously ill. He returns to his roots after 15 long years, to discover a whole bunch of changed people. His friends who were together known by the name of “Saints”, are far from what they used to be. In a flashback sequence, we are made to know about Dito, his four closest friends and his girl friend, Laurie. Their journey through their individual lives and their connection with each other, becomes the subject of the story. For further information on Friendship in Movies, browse through the site.
A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints
Since the time that you gain your senses, and you play around in your neighborhood, the memories that you have are of your parents, of your neighbors and of your friends. Probably the most vivid memories are that of the times spent with your friends. From the days that we learnt to keep our secrets from our parents, we also learnt to share them with our friends. Little bits and pieces of pastries, or fruits, or even pizzas that we shared together. Little gossips that did their rounds across every nook and corner of the neighborhood, that we shared with our friends as well. With the passage of time, when we become busy and can hardly handle the burden of work forced upon us, our best escape is a thought of those carefree days spent with our bosom pals. A time comes when each one of us have to look in separate directions for building our careers, but the memories of those days hardly leave us, ever.
