A friendship is a mutual understanding between two individuals. Friends are the greatest blessing on earth. We start making friends from the time we start socializing. The friendship ball made from hand blown or mouth blown glass is considered as high quality Kugels. In order to retain its shape and consistency the friendship ball is made by blowing into an apple wood mold. Some artists free blow their Kugel designs. However, the buyers are expected to get air bubbles in the friendship ball.

In America the friendship glass balls are known as witch balls, spirit balls, wishing balls, spirit catchers, gazing balls and so on. The Witch Balls is hung in cottage windows in 18th century Europe to ward off the witch or evil spirits. They are stained or plain glass balls usually in bright colors. Traditionally the Witch Balls are green or blue in color. In 18th century America the friendship balls were called gazing balls. The Gazing Balls do not contain any strands. Each of the friendship balls has a home grown folklore attached to it which makes them extra special.
