We are always in need of quick recipes for snacks that can be served in a jiffy when unexpected guests arrive. One such interesting recipe sent by a Sitagita member Neerja is that of ALOO TUK . It is so simple and yet so tasty that you can be sure that your guests would be demanding the recipe from you!
ALOO TUK
INGREDIENTS
Potatoes ˝ Kg
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
Chilly Flakes 1˝ tsps
Black Pepper powder Ľ tsp
Amchoor powder 1 tsp
METHOD OF PREPARATION
Cut the potatoes into rounds (not very thin). Heat the oil and fry the potato rounds until they are a creamy colour. Do not over-fry. Keep a kitchen tissue ready to absorb the excess oil and place the potatoes on it to drain. Flatten them with your hands when cool. Keep aside till you are ready to serve them.
Heat the oil again and fry the potatoes until they are totally crisp on the outside and are a lovely golden colour. This will ensure that they are also well cooked on the inside. Once again place the fried potatoes on the kitchen tissue to drain excess oil.
Now remove them and flavour them with salt, chilly flakes, pepper powder and salt. Shake them up well so that the masala is evenly distributed. Place on the serving dish and garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.
Your Aloo Tuks are now ready to be served! They taste delicious when they are hot and will disappear in a jiffy! Believe me, it`s a drool dish for kids too!
