Ingredients

Cabbage - 1 small one
Apples - 2 (preferably green)
Mashed potatoes - 1 cup
Onions - 2 - finely chopped
Vegetable broth 1 ½ cups
Butter - 2 ½ tbs
Vinegar - white 2 tbs
Salt - to taste
Sugar 1½ tbs
½ tsp black pepper

Methodology:
  • Sauté the onions with the butter till they turn golden brown.

  • In a large vessel, make alternate layers of shredded cabbage and apples.

  • Add the sautéed onions to this, along with sugar, salt and pepper.

  • Pour the vegetable broth onto the mashed potatoes - mix well and make it a thin sauce. Use more broth if necessary.

  • Pour the thin mashed potato sauce over the cabbage.

  • Cover vessel and set to cook - till well done. Use a pressure cooker without the weight if necessary.
