A well-set table can actually act as an appetizer! Yes, we bring you some nibbles on how to set the perfect table. Give your guests a visual treat!
Asparagus sprigs tied together with ribbons or straw, decorate table candles instantly. Ripe lemons placed in a clear vase or strewn on the table, can complement the green of the asparagus. You can colour co-ordinate your crockery and linen to bring citric freshness to your dinner table!
Nothing looks better on a dinner table, than fresh flowers! If your linen and china are icy white, go for fuschia pink roses as the centerpiece. Remember if it’s a sit-down dinner, the flower arrangement should be low. The aim is to allow your guests to see each other, and converse, without any obstruction. The same goes for candles. Use floating candles if possible. Tall candles are great for a buffet table, but if you are using them for a sit-down dinner, remember, no more than two candles is the rule!

An informal do? Choose a bright coloured table cloth to brighten the table. This will add style to the plainest china you use. Tie the napkins with the same coloured ribbons for a dramatic effect
Buffets are great if you don't have house help, have an informal crowd over or a large number of guests. Set the table with a centerpiece of flowers ( or fruits) and arrange dinner platters all around to enable your guests to serve themselves. Arrange parathas, bread or naans in a bread basket, use a large platter for the rice and make the salad a focal point: decorate it with cut tomatoes, grapes, mint leaves etc. Salads look appetizing in a clear glass salad bowl or neatly arranged on a platter. The simple thumb rule for a buffet dinner is: less is more!
