Cocktail glasses need to be chilled before they are used. Would you know the best way to go about it? We'll tell you. It doesn't take too long to do it.
Place the cocktail glasses in your refrigerator.
After the glasses get cool, fill them with iced water or crushed ice.
Mix your cocktail in a blender or tall glass. Get it ready.
Pick up your cocktail glasses by their stems only. Slowly empty them of their ice or water.Strain the cocktail into the glass.
Garnish to your taste.
Lime, lemons and orange twists are used very often to garnish a cocktail. Would you know how to cut lemon twists in the authentic way? Here's how you go about it.
Wash your fruit well. Then dry it with a clean cloth.
Clean and dry your cutting board and paring knife.
Cut off the ends, so the pulp is visible.
Hold the fruit firmly around the middle.
Slice the fruit peel gently lengthwise. You need to touch the pulp slightly, but not cut into it.
Keep slicing the fruitrind all around. Let there be a quarter inch gap between each slice.
When the slicing is complete, pull gently at the peel at the tip of the fruit. The fruit should not come along with the rind.
Use your fingers to twist the rind into a spiral shape.
You can now put the twisted rind into your glass. It works as an excellent garnish for cocktails on a hot summer day.
