Infact, a visit to the jewellers even to accompany their spouses brought out rashes in some! Men and jewellery did not seem to gel. For awhile.
But now things are changing once again. With the influence of films and TV gaining a grip over all, gender regardless, Men have started sporting jewellery with panache.Rings, bracelets, chains,pendants, cufflinks and tie-pins... they want them ALL!Gone is the notion that some men wear jewellery as part of status symbol and as a show of affluence and opulence.
Mercifully, men seem to be opting for jewellery that suits their style.
The craze for wearing a single ear-ring - quite popular with the teens until recently, has slowly died out.
Birthstones, 'Rakshas' and charms seem to be gaining foothold in the world on Men's fashions. Films play a major role in propagating such trends.
Getting back to tradition seems to be the name of the game, although it goes camouflaged as the latest trends and fashions. What are trends but traditions redesigned?
