So you and your man are the kind that works out regularly. Here are some suggestions to make sure you look and feel great while you sweat it out.
Wear an armpit-free vest, if you want to avoid huge sweat patches. Or try a T-shirt. Actually a 100% pure cotton T-shirt is the best and do change it every day.
Whatever you buy, the decision to wear new kit could actually make you go to the gym more. It can boost your self-esteem and this will help improve your motivation.
And for heaven's sake, don't put your dirty sneakers in the washing machine. You'll wear out any stitching or glue that's holding them together, and the weight won't do your washing machine any favours either. Try hand-washing them instead in a bowl of water and scrubbing them (a toothbrush does a good job). Alternatively, charcoal shoe inserts absorb sweat and hamper the bacteria that cause smells.
Don't leave them to fester in the bag when you get home. Never store the trainers in dark areas after use, as this will increase the risk of bacteria. Keep them in bright areas with plenty of ventilation so that they get a chance to dry out.
You can also take the insoles out after a heavy session in the gym to allow extra ventilation.
Don't pack away the shoes while they're still warm - allow them to cool down so that it prevents build-up of bacteria. And if after all that, your gym bag's still whiffy, invest in a smaller, separate bag just for the offending items.
