Home » Fashion » Male Style » Dressing Right - On a Casual Night Out
Planning a casual night out - maybe to a bar, a lounge or even an informal dinner party you have to attend? Wife / girlfriend away and you are at a loss as to what you should wear? What are we - the Sitagita women - here for, if we can't give you a few useful tips to manage on your own when your sheet anchor is away? You just have to adhere to a few tips, and lo and behold! You are toasted as the most suavely dressed male in your group! So, if you are ready, here we go!
Remember to always look and, more important, smell clean. See that your hair is well-styled and in place. Oh! And no left-over stubble on your face (however much you may be missing your girl!) Also, be careful to use your cologne/perfume sparingly and always, but always, check for dirty finger nails.
Dress in layers. You could wear a collared shirt, either button-down or a polo beneath a casual jacket. The effect will give just that little edge and help you look casually elegant. Or try wearing a T-shirt under a crew or V-neck sweater (weather permitting, of course!).
A mock or full turtleneck can also look stylish.
Do you boast of a good figure? Do you possess an athletic, fit, lean and hungry look? Why don't you experiment with close-fitting shirts? Tapered shirts complement a good figure and you will end up receiving compliments on how fit you look!
Feel you look good in jeans? Go ahead and wear jeans, khakis or slacks, depending on how casual the outing is. Try and avoid pleated pants - they will suit a more formal occasion. Stick to flat-front pants that will go with the casual look you want to project.
Remember that pants should just be long enough to drape comfortably over the tops of your shoes without leaving a trail on the ground.
Select socks tastefully: White athletic socks are a big no-no with dressy non-sneaker shoes. Avoid wearing light socks with dark pants. This can't be stressed enough as it is a very common faux-pas - men seem to think that what they wear on their feet will go unnoticed! And finally, if you ever anticipate taking your shoes off at any point, please, please do verify that your socks are hole-free.
We do hope these tips go down well with all you men and you feel better equipped to dress for the occasion during your loved one's absence! Happy partying!
