Men are busy at work during the day, but most men do allot time for their gym activities in the evening. This is one time of the day when they want to relax and yet it is also the time when they get to interact with women who are also members of the gym. Though there is a separate 'ladies hour', most working women choose the evenings for their gym activities. What can a man wear to the gym that is neat, yet attractive so that he does not have to squirm in front of female company?
Here are a few guidelines to help you choose the right gym wear that you can buy.
Always go in for comfortable gym wear that allows your body freedom of movement. No delicate designer clothing here as after a few wears and washes, it will only adorn the garbage bag! After all, you are here to sweat it out!
If you are used to dress elegantly, you will realise that your success in being modish at the gym is to wear outfits that are simple yet elegant.
No multi-coloured T shirts here that clash with the colour of your pants and sneakers! Please! That would be a total disaster! Stick to just 2 or 3 colours or tones unless you want to make a spectacle of yourself.
Buy solid colours like black, gray, deep red, beige, navy blue or even white. If you are the type who sweats a lot, avoid white and grays as they enhance sweat stains making you look quite unattractive and sloppy.
Avoid wearing T shirts with big logos or lengthy messages. Always go in for those with discreet and elegant logos that make you look classy - there are any number of famous makes like Reebok, Nike, Adidas etc that will fit the bill perfectly. Many of these brands have come out with exclusive gym wear.
Do you possess a near-perfect body? Don't be afraid or shy to flaunt it - you could draw attention to your body by wearing slightly shapelier T shirts. Follow the same guidelines and learn to keep it simple and clean.
Cotton is generally the preferred material for gym wear. They are most comfortable and less expensive. Blended fabrics offer a better fit and generally allow as much breathing comfort as cotton.
If your workout includes cardio and leg exercises, it is better to wear shorts as they allow more freedom of movement and better air circulation. Wear shorts that fit well, not the ones you would use for games like basketball. Select neutral shades that would match your T shirts and sneakers. Stretch material is generally preferred for shorts as they fit well. Avoid wearing your swimming shorts to the gym - that is so ugh!
Working your upper body? Then the stylish thing to wear would be trendy tracks. They are designed for intense wear and tear. Only remember to keep the colours to a minimum and go in for a straight cut. Again, black, gray and navy blue are the preferred colours. Most sports goods manufacturers also make track suits. Go in for a good brand that will last well, never mind if it is a bit more expensive.
