You belong to the preggers gang now - and you're dewy eyed with bliss. You're expecting a baby - you're expecting the best time of your life. And rightfully so. And in your mind, you have an image of you getting larger, rounder and heavier - and fashion and style are obviously not going to play a part in your life for months to come.
Right? Wrong! Just because a little one is coming along - it doesn't mean you can't or won't wear flattering clothes or look good. Fashion does play a part in bringing out your feminine side. All you have to do is to choose a style or fashion that works for you - and wear it with elan.
Early on in pregnancy - there isn't really a need for maternity clothes. Your regular size will suffice just fine. But, as weeks go by and your clothes start feeling tighter, you'll feel better if you opt for elastic waistbands and tunic tops.
A lot of people don't really want to splurge on maternity clothes - after all, they're only going to be in use for a few months- before they're put away. They do have a valid point. But one can study the maternity styles, buy comfortable material and get the tailor to make the outfits.
You can then keep a firm control on your budget. It's important to buy materials that wear well and can be used often and right through the day. Don't compromise on comfort. And choose colours that flatter you well.
Pregnancy is NOT the right time to indulge in glamorous but skimpy innerwear.
Supportive bras are much-needed accessories. Don't let yourself be convinced otherwise.
Be religious about low-heeled shoes. High heels can be a pain n the back. They can do long lasting damage to your back. Low heeled shoes come in glamorous styles too. Make the most of them.
Don't be embarrassed about your preggy belly. Don't try to draw your stomach in or slink away unnoticed. That's your baby you're carrying in there - and you're proud of it. Carry yourself with confidence.
Wear your hair just the way you want it. Hair looks good during pregnancy and can be worn in many flattering styles. Since this could change after childbirth, make the most of it when you can.
While pregnancy is meant to be revelled in and celebrated, it's important not to go overboard with the lighter side of life. Make good health the top of your priority list.
