This is one of the most significant fashion colleges in India set up in the year 1986 under the guidance of Ministry of Textiles of the Indian Government. It is one of the premier Institutes of Fashion Technology and Management. The Institute has several branches throughout India and Delhi is the head quarter. The Delhi campus is located at Hauz Khas, lying opposite Gul Mohar Park. The major alumni from this Institute include eminent designers, like, Rohit Bal, Ritu Beri and many others. Students who have passed or will appear for qualifying examinations under the Higher Secondary (10+2), or equivalents like AISSCE/IB/ICSE can sit for the Entrance Examination for getting admission in the institute. An interview follows for them who become successful in the exam.

NID, Ahmedabad
NID is also one of the top fashion colleges in India. It is located in Ahmedabad. The most important course offered by the institute is the 4 year Under Graduate program in Textile and Apparel Design. The program Post Graduate Program in Textile Design for 2 and ½ years is also another popular course. Apart from these, there are other courses on Apparel Design & Merchandising and Lifestyle Accessory Design. The NID or National Institute of Design is located at Paldi in Ahmedabad , Gujrat. The eligible candidates are the ones who are pass outs or will appear for qualifying examinations under the Higher Secondary (10+2), or equivalents like AISSCE/IB/ICSE. An entrance exam followed by an interview takes place.

NIFT, Chennai
The NIFT, Chennai center is located at Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Taramani, Chennai. The institute maintains same standard like its other counterparts throughout India. The admission procedure is same for all the NIFT centers.

NIFT, Hyderabad
The NIFT, Hyderabad has also made a name for itself in the field of fashion studies. The center is located opposite to the Hi-tech city at Madhapur . Several students pass out every year from this eminent institution.

The NIFT, Kolkata was founded in the year 1997. First it started in a rented property in Manjusha Bhavan but gradually it empowered a new campus. Now it is lo9cated at, Plot - 3B, Block-LA, near 16 No. Water Tank,Sector III, Salt Lake City. It is a sprawling five-acre campus having about 750 students . It can very well be called as a pioneer in fashion training and research.

NIFT, Bangalore
