The aerobic exercise was first developed by Kenneth H. Cooper, M.D who was an exercise physiologist in the U.S. Air Force. Kenneth H. Cooper also wrote a book on exercise his book with the name Aerobics was published in the year 1968. This book included different scientific exercise programs such as walking, swimming, running and bicycling. At that point of time this book proved a best seller. The book was brought out at a time of accidental historical moment, when regular weakness and inactivity in the common people required regular practice of exercises. Aerobic exercise helps in improving the functional status of the cardio respiratory system it also include heart, lungs and blood vessels. Aerobics is defined as the volume of oxygen which is consumed by one's muscles during exercise.
If practiced and followed on a regular basis the aerobic exercise provides stamina in fighting against diseases by giving higher immunity in the body. These exercises also help in treating with serious and life-taking dangerous diseases including such diseases as insomnia, obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, depression and certain other diseases. Through the practice of Aerobics you can also help your body in increasing energy by stopping regular pains.
The term aerobic suggests "with oxygen". The aerobic exercise is a type of exercise that can be performed with a moderate intensity and is practiced for a longer duration. This exercise also refers to the use of oxygen in the energy generating process of a muscle. There are different types of aerobic exercise which can be carried out at different intensity levels. Any aerobic exercise could be more effective if that involves 5 to 10 minutes of warming up with an intensity of 50-60% of maximum heart rate. At least 20 minutes of exercise with an intensity of 70 to 80% of maximum heart rate should be followed after warming up. Towards the end of exercise 5-10 minutes of cooling down at an intensity of 50-60% of maximum heart rate is also required.
