She's been around for forever. First, as a bucktoothed star of a popular television sitcom and then as a bubblegum pop star.

'Light Years' by Kylie Minogue (EMI)

Kylie Minogue, the Aussie singer-actress, has been on the scene from the early 80's. Since her early days on the hit Australian television sitcom, 'Neighbours' to her reincarnation as a youthful pop star in the 80's, she's been through several transformations.

Kylie Minogue is now back full circle to her pop roots. 'Light Years' is pure pop energy and is transformed by Minogue's light but peppy voice. None of the songs really tests Minogue's vocal talents but are fun dance numbers, nevertheless. There is the groovy, "I'm spinning around" which makes you want to stand up and spin around! There is also a raunchy duet with the reigning male equivalent of Kylie's pop princess act, Robbie Williams. Called 'Kids' the song is catchy.

Rating: Minogue is the only person besides Madonna to share the honour of being the only artist to achieve UK No. 1 hits in the 80's and 90's. That's one for longevity! And says something for her ability to keep current with musical trends.
