Cartoon Heroes by Aqua
Aqua are the Swedish quartet who are the not-so-original progenitors of bubble gum pop. Yup! The same ones who gave us such unforgettable lyrics and mindless melodies as, "Come on Barbie, Let's go Party!' and 'Dr. Jones, wake up now'. Whatever. Aqua is back with a vengeance and their latest pop offering is 'Cartoon Heroes'.Lene's voice sounds like she's got a wad of gum stuck in her nose; nasal is the only kind way to describe a voice that if it were not drowned out by strident synthesiser music, would grate on your nerves. Rene, in the meantime, continues his monotone quasi-rap. You know he's going to come on when Lene belts out the first line (of the three odd lines in the entire song) the tenth time in a row. Evolution and innovation are obviously not words that feature in Aqua's lexicon of known English words.Oh! Did I mention that tracks get repeated on the reverse side as well? Hmm.

Rating: Rene, Lene, Soren and Claus have perfected the art of making sing-along songs for tone deaf, low I.Q'd souls. The only nice thing I can think of to say about this album is that it's great for 1-2-3 step aerobic routines.
