Next Best Thing is the story of Abbie and Robert, two friends with a great deal in common; a unique outlook on life, a fantastic and smart sense of humor, a desire to be as spontaneous as possible, and most of all, terrible luck when it comes to love. If only these two best friends could fall in love, but alas, there is one big problem. Robert is gay. Their situation becomes complicated when after a night of cocktails, they wind up in bed, and Abbie winds up pregnant.
