
Julia Roberts has become the first actress to make this list. Roberts, Hollywood's highest paid actress with a $20 million price tag was ranked the third most powerful woman in the industry based on her ability to turn small projects into major vehicles and her clout in securing financing for films. This was the first time in 9 years that an actress had made the list.
Among others on the list were: Sherry Lansing, Chairman and Chief Executive officer of the Paramount Pictures Motion Picture Group, who was ranked first for the second time in a row. Stacey Snider, Chairman of Production for Universal Pictures came in second. Sony Music, vice-president Michele Anthony, CBS Entertainment President Nancy Tellem, President MTV group, Judy McGrath, Columbia Pictures Chairman, Amy Pascal, Fox Broadcasting president of Entertainment, Gail Berman, Entertainment President of the WB Television Network, Susanne Daniels and President of Recording Industry Association of America, Hilary Rosen rounded off the rest of the top 10 list.
