The third International Mumbai Film Festival organised by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Images (MAMI), started in the city on November 24. The weeklong film festival was inaugurated by actor/director Kamal Hassan on November 23.

Over 80 films will be screened between November 24 and 30. These include Ang Lee's 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon', Paromitar Ek Din' and 'Uttara' (Bengali), 'Vanprastham' (Malayalam), 'Uttara' (Bengali) and Devri (Kannada). Besides world cinema and Indian cinema, there will also be an Asian panorama.

Retrospectives of V. Shantaram and Luis Buenuel films will also be held.

Chauraha, a platform for interaction between the filmmakers, media and movie buffs will also be organised.
