"If I could change anything, I would change that", he says. "I made an idiot of myself - but I was only 18".

Ronan, now 23 and married to former model Yvonne Connolly, admits: "I knew nothing about sex and was very nave at the time. I never had girlfriends. I was into sport, cars and hanging out in bars with my mates".

But the star has no other regrets. He recently hit number one with his latest single, 'Life is a Rollercoaster', and has just released his debut album. He has a 16-month-old son, Jack, and he is a committed family man.

Among other high profile sworn celibates are Enrique Iglesias and Britney Spears. Uh?
