Best selling author and anti-death penalty lobbyist, Sister Helen Prejean has spoken out against the execution of Oklahoma City bomber Timothy Mc Veigh, scheduled for later this month.

Prejean, a Roman Catholic nun, wrote the best seller 'Dead Man Walking' which was an eyewitness account of the death penalty in the United States.

The book, later made into a film of the same name, was an account of her role as counsellor to a death row inmate, Patrick Sonnier. The movie starred Susan Sarandon as Sister Helen Prejean and Sean Penn as Patrick Sonnier.
