While casting agents and directors are queuing around the block to sign Jennifer Lopez for their films, Gladiator director Ridley Scott was distinctly unimpressed by the actress. The Bronx siren has revealed she fought like, well a gladiator to land the role of the emperor's sister in the swords-and-togas extravaganza, but that Scott dismissed her out of hand even though she auditioned for him. "I wanted the part of the sister so bad", she revealed in a magazine interview. "I thought it was a really interesting role. Now everyone is saying is a great movie and I'm like "I knew it!". According to Lopez, she never stood a chance. "I met Ridley Scott and I could tell he didn't see me in the role. I didn't know what his vision was, but I could tell I wasn't it the minute I walked in". In the end, the role went to Connie Nielsen, a complete unknown. Talk about adding insult to injury!

Of course we don't even need to remind J. Lo. that Gladiator is in the running for Picture of the Year at the Oscars this year!
