Who`s a Rowling fan? An English blueblood is enthralled by the adventures of Harry and Hermione in Hogwarts.
J K Rowling, the writer of the Harry Potter books that have seized the imagination of children and adults everywhere, recently met one of Britain`s most famous bookworms: Queen Elizabeth II.
The Queen said, "I was a voracious reader when I was a child". The Queen made these remarks when she met Rowling at her publisher`s office in London. "It stood me in good stead because I read quite quickly now that I have to read a lot".
The Queen also revealed that one of her granddaughters, Princess Eugenie, the 11-year-old daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, is a fan of Rowling`s stories of the boy magician and his adventures at wizard school.
"They are certainly popular with one of my grandchildren," Queen Elizabeth said.
Rowling`s series, which have brought her worldwide fame and a hefty fortune, have been translated into more than 30 languages and sold more than 65 million copies.
A Hollywood film based on the first book in the series, `Harry Potter and the Sorcerer`s Stone`, is to be released in November.
