It's the desi men's guide to 'surviving women' and has lines like "Every Indian man is a mama's boy. No one is exempt. No one". Ouch!

'Surviving Women'

This is a 16 chapter look into the mind of an Indian Man. Jerry Pinto works on the premise that the Average Indian Woman is better than the Average Indian Man and provides an instruction manual to help the Martians and the Venuses co-exist in harmony! The tone is often flippant and the advice sounds glib but if you look underneath the parodying, there's some solid advice for Pinto's male brethren. There are tips on everything a man would want in dealing with a woman- from talking to her, asking her out on a date, romancing her and marrying her. Oh! There's also advice on how to deal with being dumped!!

Pinto has a take- no- prisoners style. For the man who believes men are stronger than women, Pinto has these words "poor fool". For the man who believes he is perfect, Pinto has some words of advice, "the man she wants, is inside you and she's going to make sure that he finds his way out of the hulking slagheap that you represent in your current self". There's also (for those who've just had an agonising time with the opposite sex) an alphabetized list of words for evil women, drawn from cultures across the world.

To even out things, there's a female postscript consisting of responses by the fairer sex to his book. This could perhaps provide a greater insight on how the Average Indian Man could become the New Age Man.

Rating: Alright, so it isn't quite John Gray but an entertaining read for both men and women. Man is Man and Woman is Woman and never the twain shall meet? We hope not!
