Choose a treadmill that has a deck thickness of at least ¾ - 1 inch especially if you are planning to jog on it as well. Next, check the walking track. You definitely need at least 48 inches length and 17 inches width if you are to be comfortable and not accidentally step off the track. Running would require a slightly longer track.
