Do you belong to that genre of people who have spent a fortune on buying a treadmill for the home and after a few weeks, need tremendous incentive to even look in its direction? Come, join the hapless gang! So, what happens to all that initial enthusiasm, that fervour, that desire to get fit at any cost? Reason tells you that if you need to lose weight and keep that weight off you need regular exercise. “In fact, this is what prompted me to get my own treadmill!

I thought I would be able to exercise as and when I wanted or felt like it, but none of that has happened!" wails Preetha, a young housewife who is not exactly fat, but is certainly not fit! She managed to convince her executive husband to buy an expensive treadmill saying that she could not go regularly to the gym and wanted the freedom to exercise at home. The fond husband indulged her only to find the treadmill folded neatly and pushed under the bed.
“It's boring, it's too difficult, I don't have enough time and I'd rather be doing other things that are more important!" was her excuse.

Advantages of a treadmill exercise

A treadmill is a perfect choice of exercise equipment for many people. It allows you to walk or run in the security and privacy of your own home. Unlike weightlifting or aerobics, you don't have to use your hands or move your body across the room. Typically, it requires less concentration than other types of workouts, especially if you have a treadmill that allows you to program in a variety of workout components, such as hills, speed changes, and adjustments to maintain a target heart rate.
